Let Me Show You How To Make A Living As A Complementary Therapist

I'd like to help you run a more profitable complementary therapy practice so that you can live more comfortably while better serving the needs of those who depend on your skills.

What right have I got to offer you any help or advice? Well, unlike most of the so-called 'experts' and 'gurus' that you'll come across, I have actually been successful at the very thing you are trying to achieve! Over the last four years I have grown National Nutrition Clinic to be one of the country's leading integrated health clinics, combining the best of traditional and complementary therapy to help our patients.

We conduct around 10,000 patient consultations a year, including weight loss programmes, food intolerance screening, specialist clinics on underactive thyroid and irritable bowel, as well as nutrition consultations for babies, children and adults. One of our challenges is helping our practitioners to manage their workload so that they do not burn out from over work! For many of you, I suspect this might be a nice problem to have...

This Is The Hardest Sell I Have Ever Experienced!

Has this been easy? Er, no! In a twenty-five year career in sales and marketing which included selling multi-million pound software systems to telecoms companies all over the world, nothing has been such a hard sell as nutritional therapy. Most people would rather buy a new outfit or an expensive meal than solve a painful or embarrassing problem that has bugged them for years. Even the university where many of our nutritional therapists qualified told us we were mad to try and make a business out of this service…

It has taken four years of trial and error, learning new skills, thinking laterally about how we position these services and dreaming up new pricing models to finally achieve success. And now I want to share what I have learned with you. If complementary therapy is to become part of the mainstream approach to wellbeing in Britain, we need successful practitioners all over the country, supporting their local communities and providing genuine choices for people in how they maintain their wellbeing or deal with specific issues.

Why This Is So Important

You’ve made the decision to help people through your newly acquired skills as a complementary therapist. You’ve made the investment and completed the course. You've gone through the pain of study and managed to achieve the qualifications. All the shiny new equipment you need has arrived and is ready for your first patient. You spent more than you would have liked on letterhead and business cards, but that graphic designer was so convincing..

At last you can escape the rat race of corporate life and do something you love. You put some fliers in local cafes and newsagents. You advertise in the local freebie papers. It’s now six weeks since you stepped out into this brave new world and you’re starting to notice that the phone isn’t exactly ringing off the wall.

The Country Is Full Of Therapists Who Have Given Up The Unequal Struggle

You are not alone. You are one of an estimated 250,000 complementary therapists trying to make a living in Britain in 2007. As a comparison, there are about 30,000 GPs across the country. It is a sad fact that more and more complementary therapists are giving up the struggle and taking up other work. Many have invested thousands of pounds in trying to launch a new career, only to see it fall apart and leave them in debt with little or no income.

The only good therapist is a practising therapist…

In my work at the National Nutrition Clinic I get to meet a lot of therapists from many different disciplines. Around twenty people a month apply to come and work with us. They are all, without exception, well meaning people with great skills who can make a real difference in people’s lives. But at least 80% of them have never been in business for themselves before, and have received little or no training in the key skills needed to survive and prosper as a self employed person. I’m sure you’ve heard the statistics about the number of new businesses which fail in the first year or two. Let’s just say the odds are stacked against us.

Let Me Teach You How I’ve Learned To Be Successful In Complementary Therapy

I know you want to be in front of patients helping them more than anything else. But you really won’t be able to achieve that goal unless you spend some time with me sharpening up your business skills, especially in the area of marketing.

There are many places where you can learn about the practice of complementary therapy. I want to focus on the business of complementary therapy. No matter how much you are driven by your passion to help people, and believe me that is still the most important element in your long term success, you must spend time learning these business skills so you can survive long enough to continue helping your patients!

To give you a head start, I have written a seven part email report on How To Make A Living As A Complementary Therapist. This is a summary of all the lessons I have learned in growing National Nutrition Clinic from a standing start to a highly successful operation over the last four years. So please, put your business hat on for a few minutes as you receive each of these 7 secrets over the next three weeks. Print them out and start a folder labelled My Business Success.

At the same time as you register to receive the Seven Secrets, I'd really like you to help me by telling me the biggest issue that you are currently facing in your practice. This will help me to produce future reports that respond to the real needs of therapists trying to make a living in the tough world of 2007. If you enter your name and email after telling me your biggest issue, you will automatically be subscribed to the Seven Secrets. Just confirm the Opt In email when you receive it and the first secret should be with you within 24 hours.

Later this year there will be a free conference call that you will be invited to tune into for even more help with your business. Let's make 2007 the year you start laying the foundations of long term success in your new career.

Best wishes

Graham
